Wow! I gotta say, you're kinda constantly raising the bar Tou! ;) This picture is brilliant and the subtle effect of the green really helps create an aura of water... lol, not sure why. ^_^' It's got some really nice detail and you've managed to keep it contained so it doesn't scramble the overall image.

Just to make a point, I understand everyone's idea that the C detracts from the picture, but we have to look at it from Tou's point of view. I think it was really nice of her to share her artwork with us, aswell as trying to keep it unique for the person who bought it... that's what the C is for. I don't think she's ruined the picture, we can still see it in all it's glory XP and we're here to give our oppinions on the art itself, not the C, so let's try to see past it. A mistake that I'm sure won't be repeated so try to be a little nicer. Don't avoid faving the picture if you like it! I won't anyway.

Faved!

f

Howdy!

Alright, it's been a long time since I've been able to see your work. And from this picture I can honestly say, too long! I think you've truely blown away all your fans (yes fans!) with this picture, showing them truely what you're capable of as an artist. As original artwork goes, this is superb. The immediate image strikes with power and expression and the movement is so fluid and life-like that you can't help but almost see it move. The greatest part about this picture as far as I'm concerned however, is the lighting effect. Without the contrast between the light and dark, the sheer depth of the feathers would not be visible. As is, you can almost reach out and feel them and despite it's black and white colouring, the shading allows for the imagination of the viewer to colour it themselves... for example, I see golden yellow (I've never seen colour in a black and white image before, it's cool!) One word comes to mind; Shineeey!

What else is so great about this picture is the hidden detail of the other wing in the background. This makes it look a lot more realistic and the faded effect, although perhaps a little strong, is a great idea and makes a lot of difference to the overall image. The only downsides are that the wing is as I said a little too faded, which makes the viewer question whether or not it's actually meant to be there and also that the wing stops at the beginning of the foreground wing, to make sure people know it actually exists, it should follow through the rest of the picture to peek out from behind the forground wing at times. Now that I think about it... maybe it's not supposed to be there! ^_^' Well, either way, it may be a good idea for future pictures. ;)

The only constructive criticism I can find about this picture (except for the mystery wing) is the difference between the top of the body and the bottom. The top is so realistic and detailed that it over-shadows the bottom half, which is odd considering the leg is supposed to be closer to the viewer than the main body. I think, had there been just a slight texture to the fur around the lower body and knee, this could've been avoided. On the other hand, too much detail would've ruined the picture by making it too complex to look at... I guess the key is balance and you've pretty much achieved that here.

Lastly, I just want to say that the overall picture is amazing and I seriously doubt that anyone, not even yourself (ye of modest tendencies) could say otherwise. This is a definite favourite and I'm sure you'd get a lot of money for the artwork you're currently producing. I'd definitely buy it!... erm... 'cept I have no cash! lol ^_^'

Great work, Tou.

f

Hehheh! What a great idea, Eva! So much hard work and it really payed off! I hope the mods themselves see this. ;) Re-creating personality through imagery is hard and you have my respect for taking on such a difficult task. I really like the "ban" "restrict" guns, they're really clever. All in all a good picture and something truely original. Well done! Oh and it's going in as a favourite.

f

Yeah, the clouds look quite good actually. I must point out the characters... sometimes the outlines will add to the picture, sometimes take away. I think it depends on how much of a cartoony feel you're looking for. I'd always suggest working the outlines out, but it's your picture and up to you how you do it... if you're not happy with it, then you're not done. I personally think a jungle theme would've worked better than the space one, because you miss out on the depth effect with space. Either way, it's not a bad effort. Keep it up and keep trying new things!

f

erm... sorry for the lateness! ^_^' I wasn't here when you posted this so, y'know. Anyway I really like this. I haven't seen NGE and I know practically nothing about it, which is a shame because the more I see of it, the more I want to. This wallpaper in particular is now going to be responsible for my hunting down of NGE stuff and most likely an addiction! I blame you! XP j/k. The wallpaper's great and I really can't find anything to be constructively critical about, it's just great! Well done.

f

Nice work, Hikari... you've made a giant leap in your wallpaper progress. A good choice of scan and the background works very well with it. I'm suprised by the colours in the background... they compliment the dress so pefectly, but it's not all that obvious. Definitely a good piece of art overall. Well done!

f

Very fluid movement and great attention to detail... ahh, original artwork - gotta love it! Meh, I like dragons anyway... anime can be limiting so it's always good to see people branching out and contributing their creations. More variance means more interest in my book. Well, I'm looking forward to seeing your ink goddess now... so don't abandon us for too long! XP

f

Why am I so late for this?! Agh! Sailor Saturn's cool and you've drawn her well. The angle must've been tricky, no? It is indeed light, but you can see everything fine. The only comments I can give : Her face is a little sharp and where's her belly-button? XP Other than that it looks good! Well done!

f

hmm... I like the idea. Don't be so hard on yourself. The legs are a little... short maybe... not sure... but it's the idea that makes the picture so good. The shading's good and the movement's very good. Practice drawing the hands and legs and there'll be nothing to complain about. Hmm... I'm tempted to add it to my favourites because it's such a good scene, but I think I'll wait and see what you do next. Good work!

f

Howdy. Yep, it's better than your last wall. You've blended things in well. I don't see the problem with the grass myself... but I think the darker grass to the back looks better than the brighter grass to the front. Other than that it's good. The butterflys though only coloured shapes, add to the magical feeling throughout the scene and the leaves do the same. The best part of this picture that makes it look professional, is the wind. The girl's hair is moving to the right, therefore almost everything else will follow that direction and good for you, it does. The only suggestion I have (providing you want them XP), is to look closer at the colours. The character has a lot of shading and contrast, whereas the background goes for a more pastel effect. See if you can match the background colours to the character next time... I think it may look really good. Anyway, good work hun.

f

So you're walling now, huh? :) This should be interesting... I think you're gonna get very good, very quickly. If you're serious about it, then really listen to what people have to say, they can't steer you wrong. Definitely good for a first try. I wonder if there's a smudge tool in photoshop like there is in Paintshop... I find that the most useful for blending things together and softening the image. Have a look for it and practice using the tools. Well done and good luck, Tareren... or should that be Hikari? :)

f

Yeah, I like this. The clothing is well done and the hat really helps the effect of the wind. The basket and body position are actually what I find most attractive about this piece. Shading is, as usual with you, very good. It's not too heavy, which helps the sunny theme carry across. well done, I love to see original art. It's so refreshing! :)

f

Way cool. This piece of artwork is truely beautiful. The wings are a bonus but even without them it would be just as effective and attractive. Regardless of the excessive use of the character, I must say I love it. This is the first time I've seen her and I'm captivated by the emotion and mystery running through her. I'll be glad to add it to my favourites... there's a meaning hidden within this peice, be it for me or the artist, it's strong. Well done, Asahi.

f

Impressive. Very serious theme to this wall and it's very well drawn. A good piece of artwork and an interesting colour too. A picture should be enjoyable to look at and that is exactly what this is. So enjoyable I'll add it to my favourites so I can look it regularly. Well done!

f

Great... practically perfect. I really have to say, the smoothness in your shading and lighting is worth seeing... and taking notes from! XP
Oh, and by the way, your handwriting is brilliant! XP

f

So solemn... an amazing peice of art. After a while of producing great after great peice, people stop looking at the art's quality and instead focus on the idea and imagery. I'm not disappointed, infact I'm impressed. Well done.

f

The teacher was only jealous! This is... awe inspiring... reminds me what emotion is. I don't know the story or anything, but the dude's got a coat like mine! XP This is probably the best work by you I've seen... I know I'm a bit late, but a compliment's a compliment right? XP A definite favourite... keep it up man.

f

Well... nice gradual shading. Always makes all the difference. Fluid faberics and an interesting pose. Well done, it's another great work.

Quote by CLAMPchicIt looks like a happy
sadness...as though she's grieving for something, yet finds something
to smile about within the pain.

I disagree with CLAMPchic... everyone get's something different from artwork and this is what it says to me. The girl / angel was suffering... but now she sees a person and in their eyes finds true happiness. Her eyes and expression reflect truth... something pure that maybe she had been searching for, for so long. She had just given up when she found it, and it had been there all along. ^_^' Ah, anyway, that's jibberish. The artwork itself is amazing. The shading is slight, but works. Her hair... woah... y'know... now that I look at this... it reminds me of a girl I knew who died about half a year ago... this is a better honour to her than anything I could've come up with through the sadness... weird, huh? You just liked the picture, but it stirs up all sorts of meanings for me... well done, GaiJin... I was looking for something tonight.

f

My oppinion differs from most here. The picture is undeniabley beautiful... it wouldn't be a favourite otherwise. However, I'm not mad on two aspects. 1; The colour of the eye. I like the idea of the eye be the centre point of the picture, but it seems a little too ominous in comparison to the rest of the picture. I think a huge difference would've been made had the entire picture been in greyscale or in colour. Half in half makes the rest of the picture look like a flaw, which is a real shame. 2; the expression in the face. This one comes down to oppinion souly. Her frown... would've been better as emotionless or a smile. I placed my cursor over the very edge and it changed the entire picture... basically, had it been shorter, it would've have been much nicer to look at. But this is only my oppinion, that's why we have art appreciation sites. I respect the differences in artwork, regardless of preference. Well done!

f

Hmm... definitely the best work I've seen in a long time. Once again your faberics are brilliant. The moon looks very realistic and the expressions and poses of the characters are beautiful. The shading turns this into a near masterpiece. A favourite.

f

I know I'm late... but still. Brilliant. The textures are impressive... something a lot of artists leave out. The scenery is amazingly detailed and her clothing is unique and compelling to look at. The faberic's folding is just incredible. Something I find really important about this picture, is the magnificant lighting. Combined with the powerful shading effects, it creates a infinite depth... it looks so realistic. The feet are a little odd, but it matters not. I imagine you spent a long time looking at this piece before it sunk in that you actually drew it. Your friends must've been amazed... A definite favourite of mine.

f

I like this... the name especially. Characters are a little blurry, but it doesn't take away from the actual image and theme. A favourite, naturally... perhaps my dark side is trying to tell me something XP Hey, maybe yours' too! :D

f

Good picture and I agree with Walkure. Add some shading and your pictures will improve ten fold, if not more. Hmm... that I'd like to see actually. :)
